CRESWELL, Ore. — There are plenty of ways to celebrate Independence Day even before the nighttime fireworks begin.
In this week's all in a day's drive, we'll show you a few places where you can bring the family.
Whether you're heading out of town or are staying close to home on July 4, you can find plenty of celebrations on nearly every corner.
“You can step out on your porch. Folks in town decorate their homes. They put up the flag. They have the red, white and blue everywhere,” Joel Higdon said. Higdon is organizing this year’s 4th of July Celebration in Creswell.
The town is celebrating in a big way starting early Friday morning at Harry Holt Park.
“The park's where our breakfast starts. The Chamber of Commerce has a breakfast they do from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.,” Higdon said.

Creswell students are off for the summer, but are spending the week practicing and marching for the holiday crowd.
“We're going on Oregon Avenue. It's crazy. The whole street is covered with people,” 10th grade drummer Ben Prater said.
“It's the best audience. We come around that corner on Oregon Avenue and the town is tripled in size. And the kids are so proud. The town loves it,” Creswell school music director Sandi Green said.
The fanfare in Creswell will continue into the evening with a fireworks display. And you can get a great view of the bombs bursting in air from Creslane School, where they'll be lighting off the fireworks.
“The park will fill up with about six thousand people,” Meredith Clark said. Clark is helping organize this year’s Light of Liberty Celebration in Springfield.
Families will flock to Island Park starting at 4 p.m.
“Park your car there at the Booth Kelly lot and take a free shuttle over. They run every 15 minutes and they'll get you up to the park. And they run all the way through the event until 11 p.m.
Clark says families can bring their own picnic and enjoy live music before another fireworks show begins. Just a few places where you can show your American pride, and you can find them all in a day's drive.
You can find advanced tickets for the Light of Liberty Celebration at SUB's main office or any Jerry's location. Both veterans and active duty military members get in free.
