Police cited 9 people for illegal camping

Police issued citations Wednesday to people illegally camped at Sixth Avenue and Mill Street.

Shortly after the tents popped up at the Sixth and Mill location, police posted a sign that said "no camping."

It's been over a week, and not only have those campers not left - more have set up camp.

Seven-year-old Reagan Bute is safe after her father turned himself in to Ashland Police Thursday morning. Paul Bute picked his daughter up early from school Wednesday morning, which was a violation of a custody ruling handed down later that day.

The vote count on Measure 92 as of November 20 shows it failing 50.14 percent to 49.86 percent. The .28 percent difference is not enough to trigger an automatic recount under Oregon Revised Statue 258.290.
