Once a week, 12-year-old Becca Mann visits Mercy Me Ranch in Veneta to ride horses like Juliette.

"Riding the horses, it helps me because like it like distracts my mind from losing my dad," she said.

Becca's dad Erik died last December from an aggressive form of cancer.

A tragic loss is something Becca and Lori Thomas have in common.

"Losing my dad at 13, I didn't really have anyone come alongside me that could identify with my loss and it was a very lonely journey for me," Lori said.

Now Lori and her husband Stan are working through the grief of losing their youngest daughter Aimee in a car crash last year.

Last week, the U of O’s Senate Task Force addressing sexual violence and victim support programs on campus issued a list of recommendations to university officials.

On the list of over 20 suggestions was a call to immediately suspend the university’s plans to expand fraternity and sorority life.

Lubash said they also want to have a member of each Greek Life house to sit on a task force so they can educate each fraternity and sorority on the reporting process.
