Time is running out to apply for private health insurance through Cover Oregon, the state's health insurance exchange. Individuals have one week left to sign up if they want coverage by Apr. 1. and the final deadline is March 31.
A high school basketball playoff game turned ugly moments after the final buzzer. A brawl broke out -- Fans, players and coaches covered the court, exchanging shoves and punches. Rebecca Klopf reports.
Johan Gillette, the man accused of killing his father and his father's partner, is a gentle, loving person, the first witnesses for the defense said Thursday.

"We played tag. We hunted for snakes and lizards in the outdoors," he told the court. "Later on I tagged along with all his friends. They let me be full time quarterback a lot of the times and things like that. So they were really nice to me and let me play with them all the time."
Defense attorneys repeatedly asked witnesses to classify Johan Gillette as peaceful or not peaceful. The defense contends he killed his father in self-defense.
"Johan has always been incredibly gentle," friend Misty Declark said. "He's always avoided conflict."
Maryln Balaban has been a long-term care ombudsman in Douglas County for 12 years.
Ombudsmen help with outreach and support for citizens living in assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
"We're advocates for the residents," Balaban said. "That means that we visit places and talk to residents and check to see how their care is and ask the residents if they have any questions or concerns."
