A car fire sparked a grass fire near Delta Highway at the Goodpasture Island road exit Monday evening. The northbound exit onto Goodpasture Island Road was closed starting at 5:30 p.m. while firefighters responded.

"On that far hillside it was just a small 2 to 3 acre smoke and everything like that," said Ross Coleman.

Ross and Trudy Coleman, along with their four children, are one of those Milo families living on Stouts Creek Road. When they saw the Stouts Fire spread around their property they thought they were going to lose everything.

Two HH-60M Blackhawk helicopters with crew members and support personnel were dispatched to the Roseburg Municipal Airport on Tuesday to assist with fire suppression efforts utilizing "bambi buckets". An additional CH-47 Chinook helicopter with crew members is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, August 5.
