Once a week, 12-year-old Becca Mann visits Mercy Me Ranch in Veneta to ride horses like Juliette.

"Riding the horses, it helps me because like it like distracts my mind from losing my dad," she said.

Becca's dad Erik died last December from an aggressive form of cancer.

A tragic loss is something Becca and Lori Thomas have in common.

"Losing my dad at 13, I didn't really have anyone come alongside me that could identify with my loss and it was a very lonely journey for me," Lori said.

Now Lori and her husband Stan are working through the grief of losing their youngest daughter Aimee in a car crash last year.

They agree Bowen kept Borda's body on his kitchen floor for two weeks before dumping her remains in the woods.

Zombie, horror and sci-fi fans fans descended on Atlanta recently for the second annual Walker Stalker Convention.

"We had 600 people come together for a party and I thought well, if we can do a fan meet up, slowly ticket sales went from 1,000 to 2,000 to 3,000," said James Frazier, co-founder of Walker Stalker Con. "It's people that all have a common bond, a common love for zombies."

From costumes to custom-made zombie weaponry, vendors had it all for the horror fans.

Kirk Bassett is one of three senior captains for the South Eugene soccer team.

He's been steadily improving since his freshman year and is now the 6A Southwest Conference Player of the Year.

Unbeaten so far this season on the soccer pitch, the Axemen has its sights set high.

Bassett said the goal is to win the state title - and he's confident that if they take care of business, they can do it.

A river of molten lava is bearing down on the town of Pahoa on Hawaii's big island -- reaching the properties of two homes nearest to the Kilauea volcano. The lava advancing between 5 and 20 yards per hour. The flow is edging closer as officials are powerless to divert or stop its path, and the remaining residents are on high alert.
